Transat Holidays provide you with true peace of mind. Vacationers can now travel secure in the knowledge that they will be protected should a hurricane affect their destination city in Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean or Central America.
This Transat Holidays policy covers reservations for our clients’ departures between June 1 and November 30, 2011 inclusive. If the conditions stipulated in the policy are met, our clients may choose one of the four options listed below:
1. Travel at a later date
Clients who choose to travel at a later date can do so at no additional cost. Travel must be completed on or before December 15, 2011. The destination city, departure day, hotel and room category must remain the same.
2. Travel to another destination
Clients who choose to travel to another destination can do so by selecting another Transat Holidays destination that is not at risk of a hurricane. Travel must take place within four weeks of the original departure date. In the event the package price is higher than the original booking, the client will be responsible for paying the difference.
3. Travel to the original destination
Clients who want to travel to their initially booked destination may do so, provided Transat Holidays still serves that destination city on the scheduled departure date. No refund will be issued if this option is taken.
4. Cancel with a full refund
Clients who choose not to travel may cancel with a full refund (excluding travel insurance premiums already paid).
The Nolitours/Transat Holidays Hurricane Policy is applicable to any reservation made for departures from June 1 to November 30, 2011 inclusive, for clients travelling to Florida, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. The options described are only available in the following cases: 1) the Government of Canada has issued a travel advisory urging travellers to avoid the destination city because of a hurricane AND the U.S. National Hurricane Centre/Tropical Prediction Centre (NHC/TPC) has issued a hurricane advisory for the destination city; or 2) a hurricane has already passed through the selected hotel complex within one week of the scheduled departure date. The hurricane must be registered as a Category 1 Hurricane or higher on the Saffir-Simpson Scale used by the NHC/TPC. For more hurricane position and status information, visit: www.nhc.noaa.gov.
In the event that clients are repatriated to Canada, or evacuated from a destination city due to a hurricane more than 48 hours after their arrival at destination while on a Nolitours/Transat Holidays vacation, the following will apply: they will only be eligible for a credit voucher (valid for one year) for unused days on the accommodation portion of the package. Costs related to the air and land transfer portions of the package are not refundable. Additional expenses incurred as a result of the hurricane shall be borne by the client. Clients travelling “Air Only” will not be eligible for a refund for their accommodation or land transportation costs.
If the repatriation takes place less than 48 hours after departure, clients will be eligible for a credit voucher equivalent to the total value of the purchased package.
The Hurricane Policy does not apply to cruise packages and is subject to change and/or cancellation at any time without notice.
